Then Pilate said to Jesus, “So you are a king?”

Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”

Basic Core Truths I Believe

God as Trinity

I believe that we serve one God (Duet 6.4; Matt 28.19) existing eternally as three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Each is worthy of our worship, devotion, affection and obedience.

God’s Word as Authority

I believe in a God-inspired, holy Word (2 Tim3.16-17) written by the Holy Spirit through men (2 Pet 1.21) and is sufficient and authoritative for all things - especially in pointing to our only hope and salvation: faith alone in Christ alone.

God's Salvation through Jesus

I believe that salvation from our sin, its power and its condemnation is only found by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on our behalf (Eph 2.8-9).  Salvation is a free gift, through no merit of our own, but has been purchased for us through the incarnational perfect life of Jesus, substitutional death on the cross and victorious resurrection.  Salvation is a total and complete work of God on behalf of men resulting in the worship of God, proclaiming the glory of God to the fullness of the joy of man.

God's Proclamation of the Gospel

This is the announcement of what God has done for man through Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection (1 Cor 15.3-6).  It is the good news that sinners can be made saints, orphans be made sons and daughters, guilty be made innocent, the broken be made whole and the unworthy to be made precious.  All of this happens through faith in the work of Christ and is a gift of grace for all who would believe.
